While you might be able to make a few connections within your niche in the Bay Area, you could double or triple these numbers in Silicon Valley. This area is full of like-minded people, making it easier to broaden your networking branches and diversify your opportunities.
3. Less congestion throughout the area.
The Bay Area has become one of the most popular places to live in the 21st century, with people flocking from all areas of the country. This makes it challenging to find an area that isn’t congested all of the time. While Silicon Valley might still feel crowded when compared to other areas of the country (Midwest, we’re looking at you), it’s still a better situation than the rest of the Bay Area. You don’t have to drown in engine fumes on your way to work.
4. Your income will match living costs.
Living in California is expensive; there’s no way around that reality. The best way to combat this is by finding an income that’s proportionate to your living costs. While it’s possible to find a liveable wage in the Bay Area, you have much better chances in Silicon Valley. This area’s industry opportunities are much more promising and well-compensated than others you’ll find in the Bay Area.

While this is admittedly a personal preference, many people will prefer Silicon Valley to the Bay Area due to its general demographic. The city is filled to the brim with a unique array of entrepreneurial, adventurous, and outgoing individuals from diverse backgrounds. This youthful energy is mirrored in the area’s vibrant and energetic atmosphere. Silicon Valley is undoubtedly a lively place to be and something that the Bay Area is currently lacking.
6. It’s NOT the Bay Area.
If you’ve been living in the Bay Area and have grown tired of the region’s downsides, Silicon Valley is an excellent choice for the sole reason that it’s NOT the Bay Area. You’ll feel like you’re in a completely different world without having to move far at all.
